Identifying the writer’s views or claims is not the same drill as Yes / No / Not Given. YNNG is a three-way choice on one statement. This job is who claims what. A passage often reports a researcher’s finding, a critic’s objection, and the writer’s own position in the same paragraph. The writer’s claim is the one the writer asserts or endorses, not a quote they only mention. Look for evaluation language — argues, overlooks, is limited — rather than a shared noun. A fact about a study is not automatically the writer’s view. Do not apply a True/False/Not Given rule to a whose-claim item. The paper is about 60 minutes. Practice IELTS is Writing and Reading only. A Reading mark here is a practice score, not an official band.
