Short-answer questions ask you to answer with words from the passage, usually inside a printed word limit such as ONE WORD or TWO WORDS. Read the question first so you know the job — a name, a number, a reason — then find the sentence that could answer it. Copy the word that fits; do not write a full sentence, and do not swap in your own synonym. A number must match the text. This is not sentence completion, which is a gapped sentence, and not multiple choice. If two words are allowed and you write three, the item is wrong even if the meaning is right. Do not reread the whole passage for every question. Practice IELTS is Writing and Reading only. A Reading mark here is a practice score, not an official band.
