Matching sentence endings gives you the start of a sentence and a longer list of possible endings. The completed sentence must be true in the passage, not only grammatical. Read the stem first so you know the job — a result, a reason, a limit — then look at the endings. Wrong endings often copy a noun from the next paragraph or reverse a comparison. Do not pick the ending that “sounds IELTS.” Find the sentence that could finish the stem, then stop. Extra endings are unused on purpose. This is not sentence completion (words copied from the text into a gap). Practice IELTS is Writing and Reading only. Scores are practice estimates, not official bands.
