General Training Task 1 is a letter of at least 150 words. Purpose comes before tone. A complaint states what went wrong and what you want done — polite-firm, not a rant. A request asks for information or action and gives enough detail to reply. An informal friend letter still has a job (thanks, news, an ask) and must cover every bullet. Mixing purposes — a complaint with no fix, a friend letter written as a formal complaint — misses Task Achievement. Task 2 is still an essay; do not write the letter like Task 2.
