A discussion prompt asks you to discuss both views and give your opinion. Both views need a fair body. Your view is a decision, not a third topic. A practical shape: two-sentence introduction that names both views and states your position; body one explains the view you do not hold, without mocking it; body two explains the view you hold and why; two-sentence conclusion that returns to the same position. If you argue only the side you like, you missed “both views.” If you stay neutral after “give your opinion,” you missed the second job. This is not an agree-or-disagree essay. We do not promise a band. Practice IELTS marks the four writing criteria as a practice estimate, not an official score.
